Boca Lago Country Club Homes

Boca Lago Golf & Country Club is one of the rare Boca Raton golf communities where membership is optional rather than mandatory—a distinction that has made it a long-running favorite for value-minded buyers who still want the country-club setting. Built starting in 1978 across roughly 250 acres of lakes, fairways, and wildlife preserves in central-west Boca Raton, the community is made up of eight gated subdivisions, most oriented toward the 27-hole championship golf course designed by Von Hagge & Devlin.

Boca Lago is primarily a 55-and-over community of condominiums, villas, and single-story homes, though a handful of non-age-restricted sections exist. Each subdivision has its own pool, and the club adds a renovated clubhouse with dining, a fitness center, and a nationally regarded tennis program with 16 Har-Tru and four hard courts. Its location keeps I-95, the Turnpike, shopping, and the beaches a short drive away.

Most residences at Boca Lago are condominiums and attached villas, with a number of single-story detached homes mixed in. Floor plans look out over the golf course or one of the community's many lakes, and because membership isn't required, monthly costs tend to run lower than at Boca's mandatory-membership clubs—part of why Boca Lago is still considered one of the area's more attainable country-club addresses.

The 27-hole Von Hagge & Devlin course gives players three nine-hole combinations and belongs to the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program. The tennis complex is a genuine draw in its own right, with 16 Har-Tru courts and a reputation strong enough to host the Florida Tennis Cup and junior USTA events, all backed by a clubhouse with dining and a fitness center.
